Disappointment

The clock doesn’t stop because it

doesn’t know how

just like you don’t know

how to stop worrying.

You are a time bomb

waiting and wondering when

the moment will come

when you will finally

sink into the oblivion

you fear so much.

The droplets of dew that appear

on Sunday afternoons are rare

and few

just like your bursts of inspiration.

You rarely find them and

when you do

they are so fragile

that it takes only

one exhale too strong

to shatter the perfect sphere.

The crowded train station

is an anxiety attack just

waiting to happen

like your mind when

it is preoccupied with

all the wrong thoughts.

People come and go but they never

stop long enough to realize

that they are boarding

the wrong trains.
